SESCAL Gold medal

The Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California is APS Chapter 246 -- a 50-year member of the American Philatelic Society. It is made up of local stamp clubs and local chapters of national societies. The Federated Philatelic Clubs of Southern California is an IRS 501(c)(4) not-for-profit organization.

The Federation sponsors the annual SESCAL stamp exhibition, now in its 68th year. One of the features of the show's annual awards banquet is the presentation of the Federation's Distinguished Service Award. The Federation's Exemplary Service Award, although rarely awarded, is also presented at SESCAL.

The area encompassed by the Federation is almost 12,000 square miles and extends from San Luis Obispo at the north 260 miles to San Diego at the south and 90 miles to the Riverside area at the east. At the present time the Federation has 27 members, all philatelic organizations.  Officers of the Federation are members of those clubs/chapters.  If your stamp club is located in the southern California area, is not on this list and you feel it should consider becoming an FPCSC member, contact the Federation President for information. The dues are $10.00 per year. That helps cover the cost of printing and mailing copies of The Philatelic Review each quarter. In order to better communicate with our member clubs, back issues of The Philatelic Review are available on the website.

The table below provides basic information about each club including where and when the member clubs meet and a phone or mail contact for further information. Those clubs that are APS Chapters have their Chapter number included in italics following their name. If a club has an e-mail contact or a web site, links are provided in the rightmost column.  If the local chapter of a national society is a Federation member, and the parent society has a web site, then a link to the society's web site is provided (leftmost column.)

We are fortunate to have a sister organization in Northern California. The Council of Northern California Philatelic Societies is the umbrella organization for the philatelic groups to the north of us. They are an active group and several of their member clubs have excellent club shows during the year.

Send changes or corrections to us and to the president.
